EU welcomes Russia's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO)




EU welcomed Russia's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), after arduous negotiations that lasted 18 years.

He announced Trade Commissioner at the European Union "Karl de Gucht," on Wednesday, that Russia's accession to the organization represents an important step for the further integration of Russia in the global economic system, pointing out that this step will cringe the way for the flow of investments and trade promotion, and it will contribute to accelerate the process of modernization of the Russian economy.

He also stressed that Russia's accession to the organization will provide more employment opportunities for both Russian and European companies, and expressed confidence that met Moscow international trade rules to respect the criteria that had been committed.

It is estimated that after Russia's accession tariff reduction will lead to savings of 5.2 billion euros a year in import duties for of Musdrien to the European Union, in addition to the reduced tariff will stimulate additional exports from the EU to Russia annually, including $ 9 , 3 billion euros.
